procrastination2Procrastination is something that a lot of people struggle with. Whether you are an employer or an employee, procrastination hits every now and then. Recent studies have actually shown that procrastination is more of a trend these days than it was decades ago. Whatever the reason for this trend, I know one thing: if you intend to succeed in your business, you have to stop procrastination or at least reduce it. Let’s take a look at some tips which can help you do just that.

Do the hard tasks first.
It is common sense, really. Even as students, we were taught to answer the more difficult questions in tests. This is a good time management practice and gets the challenges away at the outset. At the end of the day or week, when you have less energy, you will have to deal with the easier tasks that will not require much of you.

Set aside a specific time for that task you’ve putting if off.
The chances are that you have this one task (or two) that you have been putting off forever – we all do. Why not set a date and totally focus on this task? Just do it. Just get it over with.

Create accountability.
You might be surprised at how fast you can finish tasks when you have to answer to someone. Having accountability is a good way to prod you to get some results.

At the end of the day, it is your will that will get things done.
