If you have a retail business, whether it’s online or off, or both, you still need to work on marketing both on and offline. It’s not that hard to make sure you get your business name and products out there. From having the right phone for calling people to having a great website where people can find out about your business and see what you have to offer.
Start with coming up with an actual marketing plan. Who are you marketing to? As in, who is likely to buy your products? Then decide what places those people are going to go to find you.
Having The Right Phone System
Your business plan needs to start with the right ways to communicate. Even if you simply sell in the virtual world it’s still pretty likely that one of your customers may need to call you at some point. Look into phone systems that work through the internet. They are more reliable, for one thing.
You want to be available to your customers even when you are on the road, and many cloud phone systems have apps that work with your smartphone as well, so you are able to stay in contact no matter where you are.
Using Websites And Blogs
Not only can you phone through the internet, but you should be on the net doing far more than talking. Use websites and blogs to reach people and show them what you have to offer. Your website should have a page with all of your products, including information about them, to make shopping easy for people that visit your site.
On your blog, make sure that you are posting things that let people know about your business and about your products. Post how to’s and anecdotes. And be sure to complete each post with a call to action that lets readers know the next step for achieving what your post told them about.
Getting On Social Media
Social media allows you to play with customers on a more level playing field. When they can “like” your business, or “follow” your business, they feel like they are an insider. Be on any social media that fits your demographic.
Make sure that you are sharing blog posts and photos on social media. People love watching videos, so make sure you get an account on YouTube, and use it. Sharing to Facebook and Twitter will get you tons of views.
Marketing is a must when it comes to getting your business found by more people. In the virtual world you can reach more people than just from advertising locally with business cards and such. You can sell to the whole world if you just get your business online.
