Identity theft has given way to a whole new range of criminal activities in the area of credit card fraud, house stealing and many more. The worsening economy isn’t helping for more and more people are getting desperate, turning to activities they would not otherwise engage in. There are however a lot of seasoned professionals who do this for a living and know all the alleys to pursue.
Over the internet, we have phishing and vishing scams that aim to steal your personal information as well as data regarding your finances. Bank statements and other financial records are also subject to these criminal activities which is why caution is always recommended when giving out or receiving such information.
Online credit card applications should be conducted with secure servers and checked for such before doing so. So are online purchases which can be subject to attack from hackers who get your information and charge the hell out of it, leaving you to explain why you bought the stuff you didn’t.
Fraud it seems is as easy as pie as long as there are people who fall victim to these criminals. True to this, many of those who are victimized even fail to recognize they are being scammed and readily share financial and other personal information with little convincing. Keep safe online so keep all non-vital information off the internet so you don’t fall victim to the many crimes that happen each and everyday.
