Everyone is into going green these days – from household gadgets to toys to office lighting and equipment; and why not? After all, we are seeing all the effects of our lives on the Earth, and people are realizing that it is about time to change the things and habits that can still be changed. More than this, green technology is developing in such a way that people who patronize it will make significant savings, whether in the short or long term.
In your business, there are so many options as to how you can make some savings on energy by patronizing green technology. I just came across an article over at Entrepreneur, and I found a list of green products that you might be interested in. It’s quite long, so I just chose the three that caught my interest the most.
Soy-based toners. Toners for your laser printers can make up a significant part of your regular expenditure. Soy-based toners are relatively new for office printing; based on the name, these toners make use of earth-friendly materials and not petroleum products. These toners can be bought for $60 to $199.
LED lighting. This has been the trend for those who want to save on energy. LED lights emit very little heat, have longer lives, and consume much less power. You might have to spend some money at the outset, but the long term savings are more than worth it.
Light sensor switches. Yes, these are high tech, but that does not mean they are too expensive. They are quite cheap at anywhere from $18 to $62, and you will end up saving lots over the years because your lights will turn off automatically, even if your employees are forgetful when it comes to turning them off.
