We have heard it years ago and we never believed it. Technology will be the focal point of all business and will make a difference as far as failure and success. These days, we hear of telecommuting as an alternative method of carrying out our jobs. No longer will you have to step out of your homes and travel to the office to save on gas and traffic. But some are still apprehensive.
Time management and job loyalty are put in question. When you are working from the walls of your home, how can you monitor productivity? The length of time that a work from home employee will render is sure to be in question and the only way to do it is through measuring productivity.
But with that in mind, is it really feasible to hire someone who you will not see. Sure you can enforce the installation of CCTV cameras but isn’t that kind of intruding the privacy of some folks a bit? You can also turn to the usually reliable web cam but what if the network connections suddenly go on the blink?
For some people, investing in technology to help in business now seems to be costly. They are more expensive and harder to conceptualize. But for the businesses that have already invested since day one, you can see that they are standing tall and continue to rise as modern day businesses are faltering.
Perhaps if they had approached it back then a bit more intimately. Then they would not be cramming these days on how to maintain their level of proficiency. Too late the hero though.
