No doubt that marketing in the online industry is at another level. In most cases, there is no face to face negotiation or customer service to be seen. Technology uses its resources to the hilt to be able to transact business, using interactive websites to accommodate needs and requests by prospective customers. Electronic mail, video conferencing and telecommunication services over the web such as Skype have widened the possible means of doing business and validating their authenticity for doubting customers online.
Adjusting marketing strategies using such resources will need the usual training and refresher to adapt to new trends. But just the same, the overall personality and approach towards accommodating clients and customers will still be the underlying differentiator for the success of businesses that go online. The usual marketing strategies that are done, marketing plans, advertising and promotions will just have to apply to technological means. Given some time, the usual course of a business, but this time in the era of the cyberspace world, will be business as usual.
